Get Ready To Rumble!!!

Join Jeff, Tom, and Dave as they talk to the real insiders of athletic departments throughout Lafayette, West Lafayette, Purdue, and Tippecanoe County. Catch up on what's been happening, what's about to happen, and why they happen. You don't usually get a look at sports from this angle and Sports Talk viewers have even called the show "the best thing on tv right now". Sports Talk is on Friday's 6pm - just before the sports-filled weekend. So, "Get ready to rumble!!!"

Jeff Holmes

At 6'2" and 205 lbs., Holmes is actually the light-weight at the roundtable as he hosts Sports Talk. Holmes comments, "The guys I surround that roundtable with really know what they're discussing. It's a priviledge to just be a part of such great roundtable talks like we have."  Holmes, who also plays as a strong-safety for the Lafayette Lions in the semi-pro MFL league, graduated from Jefferson H.S. where he received a scholarship in broadcasting to Lincoln College, an NCJAA Div II school. From there he came home to Purdue and has heavily pursued his career in broadcasting ever since. Holmes wants nothing more than knowing that his viewers are getting the information they otherwise might not have when it comes to local athletics. "This show really affects our community in so many ways. It may be someone's son or daughter or their neighbor's or whomever, but everybody knows somebody who's involved in an athletic program at some school in our community. It affects everybody."

  Dave Alexander

Dave has coached baseball for most of his life, especially at Purdue where he coached for 14 years. Now, a scout for the Seattle Mariners he admires baseball players for a living throughout the Mid-west. Dave is the co-host who although kind, isn't afraid to speak what he thinks. He has a nice way of saying what we wouldn't. He graduated from Broad Ripple H.S. where he played baseball going on to Purdue to play more with 3 letters. He became coach for Bishop Chatard High 1964-1977 leaving only to return to Purdue and coach, 1977-1994 and was Assistant to A.D. (compliance) for 3 years. Whew! That's a lot of baseball!

Tom Kubat

Tom Kubat is the senior sportswriter for the Journal
and Courier in Lafayette, Ind., where he has covered
Purdue football for 20 years and also is the Purdue basketball columnist. Kubat has won numerous state and national awards for his coverage of the Boilermakers, in addition to receiving awards for his coverage of the Indianapolis 500 and his feature writing and enterprise reporting. He was named Best Sports Columnist by the Hoosier State Press Association in 2003.
